Hanchang Sohn

Hanchang Sohn is an associate working with a broad range of the firm’s clients on their entertainment and commercial transactional matters. Hanchang advises media and production companies, publishers, studios and filmmakers, and his practice includes acting as development counsel. In addition, he drafts and negotiates various commercial agreements, and advises on corporate formation/governance and purchase/sale/licensing transactions.

Prior to joining Klaris, Hanchang was a corporate associate at Ropes & Gray LLP and Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP, working on various corporate matters, including M&A and venture capital transactions, as well as private fund formation.

Hanchang studied economics at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as a member of the Virginia Law Review.

Hanchang loves expression of art in all forms, and back in the day, recorded music that was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Korean Music Awards. He currently lives in Brooklyn, and in his spare time enjoys climbing and working on his own creative projects.
