Sam Borenzweig

Associate

Sam Borenzweig is an associate whose practice encompasses a wide range of intellectual property transactions, production legal for documentaries, scripted TV, film and theater, and the pre-publication review of print, film, and other content. He represents both media creators and distributors. In addition to advising on licensing and transfers of rights, fair use and other copyright-related matters, Sam regularly counsels clients on privacy law issues, and a wide variety of commercial agreements.

Prior to joining Klaris, Sam was an associate at another New York firm, where he drafted and negotiated complex commercial agreements and assisted early-stage companies with formation issues. Sam studied philosophy at SUNY New Paltz and obtained his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. During his time there, he interned at Christie’s and Ziff Davis and was selected to participate in the Samuelson-Glushko Intellectual Property and Information Law Clinic, where he provided pro bono legal services for clients with intellectual property issues. Sam was the recipient of the Archibald M. Murray Award for Public Service.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Sam has the distinct honor of being the only Klaris associate (to date) who was homegrown in New York. He is now a proud Brooklynite. Before attending law school, Sam held various odd jobs, including a long stint in film and TV production (he’ll gladly share stories about Liam Neeson’s makeup mirror, if you ask him). Sam is admitted to practice in New York.
