Alex Robbins


Alex Robbins is an entertainment and media lawyer focusing on transactional matters in the film, television, podcast/digital media, theater, and sports industries. He represents companies (e.g., production companies, studios, networks/distributors, brands) and individuals (e.g., producers, writers, directors, actors, authors, and other talent) in connection with the development, production, and distribution of scripted and unscripted content, day-to-day business and legal affairs, and the acquisition, licensing, and protection of rights. Alex also has significant experience structuring and negotiating branded content deals and sponsorship agreements, as well as advising clients on clearance (e.g., copyright, defamation, privacy) issues, traditional and emerging/digital distribution methods, and financing and corporate governance matters.

Prior to joining Klaris, Alex was business and legal affairs counsel at Netflix, where he handled a wide variety of development and production matters for the company’s original scripted TV projects. He was also an associate at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks P.C. and in-house counsel at First Look Media/Topic Studios, an Oscar-winning film and television studio and streaming platform.

Alex received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Skidmore College and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is admitted to practice law in New York, California, and Massachusetts.
