Alex Robbins

Alex is an entertainment and media lawyer focusing on transactional matters in the film, television, podcast, digital/social media, theater, and advertising industries. He represents both companies (e.g., production companies, studios, networks/distributors, brands) and individuals (e.g., producers, writers, directors, actors, authors, and talent) in connection with the development, financing, production, and distribution of scripted and unscripted content, day-to-day business and legal affairs, and the acquisition, exploitation, and protection of rights. Alex also has significant experience negotiating and drafting branded content deals and sponsorship agreements, as well as advising clients on clearance (e.g., copyright, defamation, privacy) issues, traditional and emerging distribution methods, and corporate governance matters.

Prior to joining Klaris, Alex was business and legal affairs counsel at Netflix, where he handled a wide variety of development and production matters for the company’s original scripted TV projects. He was also an associate at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks P.C. and in-house counsel at First Look Media/Topic Studios, an Oscar-winning film and television studio and streaming platform.
